A lady who has been away from the city for a long while, and who during her absence received the sad news of the death of the husband of one of her inti mate friends, upon her return hastened to cali upon the bereaved widow to extend her sympathy and condolence. "My dear , I am so sorry to hear of your husband's death," said the lady with a suspicious break in her voice, "and y ou know, dear, how much I sympathize with you. ' ' "Yes, 1 know you do. It ís awful to have your husband taken away, and he did not leave me a cent of iusurance either, " said the widow, bursting into tears. - '
