Richmond, Va., Nov. 2. - Postmaster James Feagles of Newborn, Pulaski county, was killed while in the act of burglary. A storehouse, which had been repeatedly robbed, was guarded by two men, who saw a man unlock the outer door and also an inner door. While leaving the house with a bag of wheat the man was halted. He attempted to draw a pistol and both guards fired, killing him instantly. Both were astonished when they found the dead burglar was the postmaster. False keys found in Feagles' pocket fit other buildings in the town.
