The New York Jonrnal, which is certainly iu a position to know, shows that the dernoorats gained their splendid victory in that state by coming together in a spirit of concession which welded the party into invincible form. The differenoes on whioh demoorats divided all over the country last year were kept out of the New York state and city campaign. A Standard was raised around whioh demoorats of every shade of opinión could rally, and they flocked to it in suoh nurnbers that the opponents of democracy must be coovinced that when the demoorats get together in New York they will rule the loost.
