Also that the following plank crosswal ks be laid: On the east side of Pontiac st. across Plum. On the east side of Pontiac st. across Apple. Also that the cement crossing on the north side of William st. across Main st. be repaired. And further that the stone approach atttae northwest corner of State and William sts. be replaced with cement. And that the following crossing be repaired with tar: . Od the east side of Detroit across Fuller. And further that the Street Commissioner be instructed to do tiie necessary grading for the new walks on the east aide of Detroit st. Your Committee would also recommend that Mack & Co. be ordered to build a plank sidewalk on the west side of First st. in front of their property known as the wool house. F. M. Hamilton, John Koch, Frank Vandawarker, George Spathelf, Jr., ' H. P. Danforth, Committee on Sidewalks. Aid. Mooie moved that the portion relative to a diagonal walk be voted on separately. Adopted. Whereupon the report was adopted as follows: The following sidewalksbe repaired: West Fit' th st. iu front of following property: 510, 51-5, 51(5, 520, 521, and on S. First st. in front of 400, also in front of Julius Krueger's, and new sidewalk be ordered built in front of Julius Radke's property. SIDEWALK GRADE RESOLUTION. By Alderman Hamilton: Whereas, it is the opinión of the Council that the grade of the sidewalk 3n the south side of Arbor st. ought to ae changed and flxed andestablished, to the end that such street may be suitable for public travel. Therefore, Resolved, and it is hereby ordered that the grade of the sidewalk on and along the south side of Arbor st. from east line of State st. to the southwest line of Oakland ave. be, and the same is hereby ehanged, fixed and established, so that the grade of said side walk on and along the street aforesaid shall be as follows, tbat is to say: At s e cor. State and Arbor st 832.00 ft At west liDe of lot 39, Tappan Park ...840 50 ft. At 8 w cor. Oakland ave. and Arbor st. 846.U0 ft. the elevation given being above the official city datum and along the center line of such walk, and the grade lines to consist of straight lines between the several points or stations above stated. That portion of the report relative to the diagonal walk was adopted as follows: ByAld. Soule: Kesolved, that the Committee on Ordinanee and the City Attorney are requested tq prepare an ordinance which sLall require all bicycle riders to carry a ligh.t wliile riding wheels in the corporate limits of this city after dark and that a proper penalty be provided for any infringment of this ordinance and report the same to this cquncil at the next meeting of this conncïl. Referred to the Ordinance Committee. Aid. Rhodes moved that the Board of Public Works be instructed to rake the stone off Pontiac, Broadway and south First, and draw the same to the stone yard. Adopted. Aid. Koch moved that the Board of Public Works be instructed to build or repair all sidewalks ordered by this couneil where the term of notice has expired. Adopted as follows : Nays- None. Aid. Brown moved that the Street Commissioner be instructed to repair the sidewalk on W. Huron st. across Allen 's Creek. Adopted. On motion the Council adiourned. CityClerk.
