Monument On Orchard Knob

Springfield, Hls., Nov. 23.- The commissioners to lócate monumenta or positlons occupled by Illinois troops in Chickamauga battle, have accepted plans for a $7,000 monument t'o be erected on Orchard knob. The plans were made by George Craig of Galesburgr. The monument is of oanopy order, surmounted by a round column and the figure of a Standard bearer above; height 4" feet: outside measurement of bottom, 14 feet square.
