A gold mining company was organized in Chelsea Wednesday under the name of "The Chelsea Gold Mining, Prospecting and Development Company. " The following officers were elected : President and general manager, Prootor C. Pettingill ; secretary, Charles H. Carpenter; treasurer, Mark A. Lowry. The company wai eapitalized at the snm of $25,000, consisting of 1,000 shares at 25 eacb, $3,000 of which was paid in. The officêrg consist of a practical miner, an engineer and a maohinist. all of Chelsea. It is propoaed by tbis company to send from 10 to 20 men to gold fields of Alaska.in company withthemselves, in a boat from St. Micfaael's. The boat will.be purchased from ship bnilders in Seattle, with whom the company are now figuring, and it will either be shipped to St. Michael's whole or in sectious and pnt together at that point. It will be built to carry all necessary luachicery and a iu 11 eqnipment of tools, etc for the; parties going, together with supplies for one yêar, and will be nsed on the Yokon and its tributaries for the purpose of prospecting. ,i The compaDy have filad their articles of association witb the seoretary cf state and are orgauized on a tboroughly business basis.
