C. C. Stevens, special examiuer of the state insnrauce bureau, reoently inspeoted the books and bnsiness of the Wasbtenaw County Mutnal Fire Insnarnoe Co., and in his report to Milo I). Carnpbell, stati oorntnissioner of insnrance he paid a compliment to the cornpany and its efficiënt secretary Wm. K. Childs. He said that the system in vogne witb the Washtenaw Mutual was the most perfect he had found among the mutual eompauips and carne the nearest to being complete oí anytbing he had yet seen. In a letter to Mr. Childs about another matter of business Mr. Campbell said: "I congratúlate yon upon tthe showing made. It is the aim of the partment to have every company inspeoted at least once a year and ia some instancee as often as every sis months. " The examination of the Washtenaw jNIutnal's books was a most rigid oue and the company and Seoretary Childs are both to be congratnlated on the excellent showing made. Highway Coramissioner Clippert, of Springwells, has condernoed the crossiug of tbe Detroit, Ypsilanti & Aun Arbor tracks on Michigan ave., aur! uuless the company remedies thedefecrs at once, he is ready to take Jegal steps to foroe them to do so. The defects vrill be reruedied.
