Od the afternoon of Monday, Dec. 6' a nnmber of gentlemeu, including several oï the ministers of this city, with otners from neighboirng towns, met in the parlors of the Oongregatioal churoh, to discnss the advisability of organizing a society for the consideratiou of topios of current interest ín phiIosophy, theology and kiudred fiolds. There were tbose present from Jaokson, Ypsilanti, Cbelsea, Leslie, Dexjer, Salem and Webster. Pruf. R. M.Wenley, of the University of Michigan, gave an exoeedingly interesting informal talk opon the fundamental postulates and distinoüve oharaoteristios of the Ritechlian Theology. Aa organization was formed to be known as the Cnrrent Thooght Club, whose object is the Btndy and disonssion of questions of interest in the departmeat.s of thoaght already referred to. Rev. J. M. Gelston was choseu prf-sident, Bev. J. VV. Bradshaw vioe president, Rev, J. .1. Staley, of Dexter, secretary, and Rev. B. F. Aldrich, of Ypsilanti, treasnrer. The direction of the aftairs of the club is ia the hands of an exeoative committee, consisting of Rev. W. M. Forrest Rev. W. h. Tedrow and Prof. R. M. Wenley. It was decided to amke the recently published work of Prof. .lames Orr, of Bdinbnrg, on the Ritsohlian Theology the snbject of stody for the present. The club is to meet regularly on the socond Monday in each month. All persons interester! in furtheiing the objects ói the club wili be weloomed as members.
