The annnaï meeting of the Needlework Gnild, waa held in the lecture room of the Presbyterian chnroh Thursday afternoon, Deo. 2. Abont 100 garments aud $30 iomoney were oollected. In the absence of the president, Mrs. W. S. Ferry, Mrs. H. S. Dean presided. After listening to and aeoepting the seoretary's report, the matter of consolidating the Needlework Gaild with the Charitable Union was taken npand discussed from all standpoints. While tbere were a few present who thought that one organization could do all the work, it was clearly shown that tbe Needlework Gaild bad its own distinctive work to du, and that the $30 in rnoney in uowise made np for ihe lack of tbe 800 garments which tbe Gaild had always oollected until this year. One year tbere were 1, 100 garmeuts given. It was also proven that solicitors foiind it mach easier to get two new garmenfcs than to get a donation of money. A vote was finally taken to continue the Guild another year. It was carried. All of the oid officers were tben re-eleoted. The Needlework Gnild is one of the noblest charities ever organized iu tbis city. It starts oot on tbe coruiug year with reuewed zeal and with the intent of doiug a greater work than ever before.
