Loss Will Exceed $500,000

Stockton, Cal., Jan. 4. - At 12:10 o'elock in the morning flre was discovered in warehouse No. 5 of the Farmers' ITnion and Milling eompany and before the department could respondtheflames were beyond control. The fire quickly spread to warehouse No. 6 and it was soon seen that neither warehouse could be saved. The lowest estímate of the amount of wheat destroyed is 10.000 tons and many put it higner. The loss is placed at more than $500,000.
