May Brown, white, on the same charge, will have her examination befoie Jnstice Pond today. In defanlt of bail she has beeu in jail since süe was arreeted. Anua Smith, agetl 22, of Bridgewater, bas entered complaint in Jnstice Duffy's court. against Walter McGnire, aged 18, of the same townsbip, charging him with bastaidy in being the father of her infant son born Deo. 7, 1897, bnt which is since dead. The examination is set for today. O. Lincolü McGnire is attorney for the defendant and Proseonting Attorney Kirk, on behalf of the People, appears for the complainant. Manager Clark of tbe Chicago Shoe Store made complaint against Jack Layton Tuesday afternoon for stealing a pair of sboes from the nnmber displayed in front of the store last Monday evening. Layton sold thena for 25 -cents and got drnnk on the porceede. He is already in jail for being drnnk and disorderly. Jnstice Pond sent two tramps to jail Wednesday, for being drunk. One went down for 10 days and the other, ■who olaimed to be a printer, is in for six days.
