The contract has been let and work begun on reseating the gallery of University hall. Henry Geismer, '97 eng. has a position with the Sloss Iron Co. at Birmiagham, Ala. Several of the co-eds in order to perfeot themselves in public speaking, have forrued a debating society called the PhiliJogia. A. will soon appeal to the alumni and wealthy friends for a &10.000 eniowment funad to support a wrmanent secretaiy and gnaraotee exlenees. This is an alruost unheard-of condition of affairs, aod shows clearly that the claim of its ogicers and supporters that tbe department is booming nnder its present efficiënt management is no oanard.
