Memorial servioes for the late Supt W. S. Peiry were beid by the sohool board in High Sohool hall Friday afternoon. Besides the mernbers of the board, the teaobers of the schools occupied places on tbe platform, also members of tbe olergy. After a seleotion of musio by the Miases Clara J. Jacobs and Panny Young, Rev. J. M. Gelston offered prayer. Mrs. Anna B. Bach, president of the board of sohool trastees, then spoke of tbe Christian charaoter of Prof. Perry. Mrs. Luln G. Downs, representing the ward schools, spoke of his work in the schools and of his great attention to detail. Rev. E. D. Kelly, pastor of St. Thomas Gatholio cbnrch, spoke of tbe noble charaofcer of the deceased gentleman, his broad views, and the great interest be had always evinoed in Sfc. Thomas' school. Rev. J. M. Gelston, who had gradnated from the high school, spoke of the great inflnenoe Prof. Perry had left en both pupils and parents. Prof. Perry's aim in life had been to edĂșcate and impiove his fellow men. Prof. J. D. Pattengill and Mrs. Sunderland paid tributes to his memory as a superintendent and teacher. The exeroises were concluded with thfl singing of "The Better Land" by Miss Jacobs and the pronounciug of the benediotiou by Rev. E. D. Kelly.
