Victoria, B. C, Jan. 25.- The steamer Ctty of Tonka arrived from Alaska, bringing about forty passengers, two ot whom, F. E. (i. Berry of Seattle and George Barraek of Colorado Springs, have just returned from the Canadian gold fields. They left on Dec. 13, bringing news of new strikes that are being made on Hunker creek, the last t the begining of December, when pans ranging all the way from $2.50 to $7.50 -were taken out. Mr. Berry went in to buy claims for a firm of English capitalists and has succeeded in securing 6ome good properties.
