Trenton. N. J.. Feb. 1. - Governor Griggs sent to both houses of the legIslature a communication giving notice that he had filed his with the secretary of state, to take effect at midnight. The two houses then passed a resolution providing that President Voorhees of the senate should take the oath of office as acting governor in the presence of the senate and house and Chief Justice McKie be requested to administer the oath. A concurrent resolution eulogistic of Governor Griggs was adopted by both the senate and assemWy.
