Great preparations are being made by tbe Lyra Society and oar citizeuB in i general to make the ooncert to be given ! at Athens Theater, Weduesday, Marco 2, a grand succes?, as vrell as to give ibe visiting society, wbiob includes some of tbe most prominent citizens of Detroit, among tbena oor woithy governor, a royal receptioa. Tlie concert is cnder tbe direotion of Prof. R. H. Kenipf of the Lyra Maennerchor. No expense wijl be spared in raaking this concert an aft'air to b loug reirerubered. Of those who will take pait we oan luention "The Harmonie,'" 100 members, ladies' and male choros; Prof. Win. Ynnck, Michigan's greatest violinist, leades of "The Harmonie" and of tbe celebrated "Detroit Pbilbarrnonic Club," whicb recently srored snch a great suocess at tbe Chora] Union concert; Miss A. Mayer, tbe wonderfu) Detroit pianist ; Mr. Dirkes, tenor soloist; oor own Freddy Daley, who needs no special cornrneut to Ann Arjor audiences; Mrs. R. H. Kempf, oor favorita alto soloist; Dr. Wm. Spitzley, baritone, and the "Lyraj Maeunerchor. " This concert is not given to swell the I treaaory of the sooiety, but to give Aun Arbor's lunsio loving people the rare treat uf beaiing Michigan's oldest and most prominent singing sopiety. Tbe Lyra boys have nndertaken a great task and are hoaud to give their patrons a fine entertainment and treat tbeir brother sooiety of Detroit, witb their friends, as Ann Arborites nan and sbould. Tickets oan be procnred of the members of the society and at the following business plaoes: Mano Bros." drug store; Wahr & Miller's shoe store; Schnmacher & Miller's drug store, and Geo. Haller's jewelry store. Reserved seats to any part of the house, 50 cents, gallery, 25 cents. Boards will be open at Wahr's bookstore on Main st, from Saturday, Feb. 2(5, nntil Wednesday March 2, at 5 p. m.
