The followiug is recorumended as a enre for sUeplessness : "Wet a half towel, apply it to the back of the neck, pressiDg it upward toward the base of the brain, and f asten the dry half of the towel over so as to prevent the too rapid exbalatiou. The effect is prompt and cbarming, cooliug the brain aud inducing calmer, sweeter sleep than any narcotic. Warm water may be used, though most persons prefer cold. To those who suffer from overexcitement of the brain, whether the restilt of brain work or pressing anxiety, this simple remedy
