A Lansing dispatob says : It bas been decided by the board of direotors of the Lansing, Dexter & Ann Arbor railroad to extend tbe line from Dexter to Ann Albur. Secretary Taylor and Consulting Engiuear Heuvy C. Issertel, of New York city, oame to Anu Arbor Tuesdáy rnorning to look over tbe route. This extensión was practicaüy deuided upnn at the last meeting of the board of direotors, and was strongly urged by Ann Arbor oitizens. One of tbo directors said Tnesday that the oonnecting link between Dexter and Ann Arbor would soon ne bnilt by sonae otber company, if uot by tlieniselves. The people of Ann Arbor wish to reach the Poitage lakes by some way other than driving overlaud. Thos. Birkett, of Dexter, was in the city Satnrday, making arrangements to secure the entrance of the railroad into the city, the right of way for which bas been seoured almost the entire distance. The oompany wants a franchise for W. Haron st., and the ordinance will oome np before the council at its next meeting.
