There is doubt in soine mau's mind very ofteu as to when he should rnake known to his people the girl he hopes to ruarry. In soine cases he prefers that they should become acquaiuted before the die is cast and he has bound himself to her for better, for worse, by a promise. At other times he has a certain diffldence a bout introducing thein to each other till theyknow inwhat position she is to stand toward himself, and the result is that he is a little bewildered. Perhaps in many ways it Í6 more conforta ble for a girl to know his people before she is presented to thein as a future relative. But circumstances often render this out of the question, and theii there is only one correct form of nroceeding. Where bis people and herslive in the sanie place bis family raust cali upou her as soou as tbey are informed of the engagement. If they live at a distance, they should at once write, welcoming her as a future relative, and it is usual where possible to invite her to stay with them and make their acquaintance. When tbis is done, it is a more coinfortable plan ou both sides if the fiance can accompany ber and introduce berin person to his people. It is a trying ordeal both to the girl and to ber lover's family, this first introduction to each otber, and if the lover hhnself is present the conuecting link of interest between the two - it niakes it considerably more agreeable work for every oue
