New York, Feb. 22.- A dispatch from Madrid says: The Spanish admiral commanding at Havana, telegraphs that the Spanish official investigation into the catastrophe to the Maine has terminated and that the fiist explora - tion made by official divers has shown, up to the present, that the disaster was quite accidental, and was not produced by any exterior cause. Premier Sagasta, in person, eonveyed the official telegram to the palace, and the queen regent expressed satisfaction on hearing thé result of the investigation. The queen will give an audience at once to United States Minister Woodford, who will convey the thanks telegraphed by President McKinley for her message of oondolence.
