Monument To Maine Victims

Washington, Feb. 22.- Representativa Cumming-s of New York introduced Ín the house the following resolution"Resolved, That the sum of $100,000 be and the same is hereby appropriated out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated to be expended under the direotion of the secretary of the navy for the ereetion of a monument at Fort Lafayette, New York harbor, in honor of the offioers, sailors and marines of the United States war vessel, the Maine, who lost their lives in the harbor of Havana on the night of Tuesday, Feb. 15, 1898."
