The matinee given by Robert Downing Saturday afteruoon was quite libeially patronized by ladies and children. He appeared as Iugomaz, the barbarían, in Marie LoveH's beantiful dramatic poem of that name. It was a flnished performance and was well leceived. The flowers usd dnring the performance vera fatnished by John Laidlaw, the Michigan Central gardener at Ypailanti, and were a gift to Mr. Downing. The two men are oíd friends. Leonard & Gilmore's "Hcgan's Alley" Wednesday evaniug was bat slim]y attended. Sorue of the turns were extremely well done, notably tbat of Eddie O'Dell, as the tramp, in feats of oomioal tnmbling, and the Le Page Sister9 in rapid character cbanges and danoes. Leonard and Gilmore as Hogan and Brogan are a very laughable team. Al Field 's Minstrels will be tho attractiou et the Athens Satnrday evening of next week. The Monday following tbe new farce oomedy "Miss Francis, of Yale" will be presented, with Elienne Girdot in tbe leading role. Tiokets for the A. A. L. I. Ladies' Minstrels and Military entertainment to take place in the opera honse Tuesday and Wednesday, Maich 8 and 9, will be 50 cents for any part of the honse down stairs. Gallery, 25 cents. The ladies to take part in it are, with a single exception, residente of this city. The gentlemen to take part all reside bere, and rehearsals take plaoe every day. A high class entertainment in every partioular eau be looked for. St. Patrick's Day, March 17, will be oelebrated with Irish songs and Irish drama at tbe Atheus Theater. The St. Thomas' Dramatio Society will produce "Robert Emmett." James E. Harkinö, Bruno St. Jamas, Joseph Kelly, Miss Francés Caspary and Mrs. Charles Manly will sing Irish and other songs, soine of which will be accompanied by Miss Ellen Clarken on tbe harp.
