The March term of the circuit court opened Monday moming with -ludge Kinne presiding. The day was priucipal'y spent in the assignment of the cases on the dooket. In the afternoon an adjournment was made nntil Wednesday morning on account of the deatb of Jndge Douglass, of Detroit, a former meinber of tbe Washtenaw connty bar. Wednesday morning the oase against Cailile P. MoKinstry, charged with embezzling fnnds from the city of Ypsilanti, while he was its clerk, was eommenced and is still on trial. The evidenc for the prosecntion bas not yet all been given and is mostly of a teohnioal nature, whicb makes it a ratber tedious trial. The defense on cross examination are evidently endeavoring to show that the shortage ïnay have ocourred without McKinstry's knowledge or consent.
