Andrew Ely, who went froru Ypsilanti to seek bis fortune in tbe gold fields of California and later on added to bis income by running a saloon in San Francisco, tecently died in a California hospital, leaviog an estáte valued at $1,000,000. Ely wus nnmarried and made no vsill and appointed no administiatur. Eighteeu heirs nave appeared. Most of tberu live in the west, bnt fonr reside in Michigan, They are Geurge Neat, of Ypsilanti, and his sister, Mrs Florence Clark, of Bay City, cousins of Ely, Edward Lespronce, of Ypsilanti, a nephew, and Patrolmau Joseph Ely, of the Elmwood ave. pólice station, Detroit, another nephew.
