Washington. March 15.- A telegram received at the state department from Consul General Lee announces the death of Mrs. Thurston, wife of United States Senator Thurston of Nebraska, on board the yacht Anita, off Sagual la Grande. The telegram contained no information as to the cause of her death, but as notice had been received by her friends here it is supposed to be heart failure. President McKinley sent to Senator Thurston a cablegram expressing his sorrow at the latter's bereavement. The Senator and Mrs. Thurston -were members of a party of congressmen and their wives who left Fort Monroe last week on the Anita for a. personal tour of inspection in Cuba.
