Graceless

A tiny girl of 7 or theieabout gave a .dinner party the other day for whioh 12 covers were laid, and that nuinber oí small maidens sat down to diue. It was a real little girls' dinner, and tbe little hostess herself presided, sitting at the head of the table. But she was anxious, in lookiug forward to it, to do everything as it should be done. "Mamma," she asked, "shall we say grace?" "No, " said mamma, "it will be a very informal dinuer, and I think you eed not do that." That meaut one less ceremony to be gone through and was a relief, but the little lady was anxious to have all her sniall guests understand it. So as they -were gathered about the table she explained : "Mamma says this is such au infernal dinner that we ueed not have grace
