Circuit Court Doings. For nearly a week the trial of C. P. McKinstry, charged with embezzling funds belonging to the city of Ypsilanti. occupied the attention of the circuit court. The prosecution failed to make as strong a case as was expected and the judge's charge wasvery favorable to the accused. After being out for five hours the jury returned a verdict of not guilty and Mr. McKinsti-y was acquitted of the charge that jas huDg over Mm for three years. On Wednesday the case of the Peole vs. Walter McGuire, for bastardy, was on trial. It is characterized by those who heard it as the poorest tried case on the part of the defense that las ever been tried in the Washjtönaw circuit court, at times provoking Judge Cinne:s temper to the verge of anger L'he accused was sentenced to pay the gii-1 $50 expenses. The case of Bertha Beach vs. Anna Keegan ended in a verdict for the defendant for $.7-3.
