Burns' Anniversary
Tbe Ann Arbor Galedonian Society will give íes annnal Barns anniversary entertainment in Universtiy hall, Saturday evening, April 9, aud it will be one of the most nniqne entertainments of the season. Aruoog the obief features will be the singing of I Soottish and other songs by the celebrated tenor Harold Jarvis. Farqubar Beatón, winner of the World's Fair charnpion medal for bagpipe playing and who has jost been ohosen pipe major of the Forty-Eigbth Eighlanders, the ciack regiment of Toronto, Ont., bas alao been engaged. Williatn Jonnston, winner of tbe cbampionsbip trophy of America for Higbland dancing, will be here, He will play the bagpipea in duo with Mr, Beatón, and among theseleotions they will play will be the oelebrated tnne "Cook o' the Nortb," which was played by the wounded pa;wr in the charge of the Qordon Higblanders at the Khybert pass in the Himalayau mouutains, India, dnring tbe recent npiising of tbe bill tribes. Drs. R. M. Wenley and Craig, Prof. A. A. Stanley and otbers are also expected to partioipate. The concert will be givenfor the beuefit of tbe Stodents' Cnristian Association and popnlar prices of a'dmission will prevail. University hall should be filled on such an occasion and for sacb a canse.
