Isis of Oxford tells two good examintion stories. The first is a candidate ■who in the divinity viva voce was asked to translate a portion of the gospels. As he did not stop at the end of that portion the examiner said to kim: "Thank you, Mr. , that will do. We are quite satisfled with your paper." "Oh, please," was the answer, "do let me go on. One candidate's paper in the Oxford local examination contained the following luminous and surprising passage: "Gen.
