Fire Department Report

Chief Sipley, of the öre department, has subniitted his annual report to the eommon council and it will be read next Monday evening. The report shows that during the year ending March 31. the department received 59 calis, 45 of which came by telephone. The company travelled 30i miles, laid 10,450 feet of hose. The value of property destroyed by lire during the year ■was $14,085,44; insurance paid, $9,598.44. Insurance carried by property injured by fire, $120,100. During the year it has cost $,968.69 to run the department, $6,021.70 being the amount paid for salaries in that time.
