Blanco Getting Hungry
Madrid, May 10.- The government intends to insist that the cortes sit continuously until the war measures are adopted. The minister of finance, SeƱor Puigcerver, declares that until the eredits are voted, it is impossible to meet the demands for ammunition and provisions for Cuba, Porto Rico, the Balearic isiands and the Canary islands, or to obtain the necesary stocks of fuel. Captain General Blanco has cabled an urgent request for considerable supplies of provisions, which the government cannot dispateh until the cortes have voted the war measures. It is estimated that the stock of whoat wil] be consumed inside of a month. and measures are being taken to purchase wheat abroad.
