Heard Heavy Cannonading

St. Thomas, D. W. I., May 31.- Heavy cannonading has been heard for ma.ny hours off the Porto Rico coast. The dispatch boat Anita steamed out through Sail Rock passage and skirted Culebia island, where it sighted a warship many miles off. lts nationality could not be determined and the dispatch boat. fearing capture, turned and put to shore. It is believed that the Spanish torpedo-boat Terror, which left San Juan, encountered an American scout boat.
