A special meeting of the common oonnoil was heldj last evening to consider the recornmemlation of the board of pnblio works relative to the re-eqiupraent of the tracks and poles of the Detroit, Ypsilanti & Ann Arbor eleotric railway along tba line uf the pavement ou Main st. It was resolved that the company be ordered to place iron poles along Main Et. aud lay steel ties and groved steel rails along its right of way in said district within 6 days, alsoto pave within its tracks with brick. - If satisf actory assnranoe is not given bythe company that they will coiaply with these demanda the city attoruey is to prooeed against the company and compel it to do so. The permission recently given by the common connoil to the company to rnn a loop around the coort honse sqnare will also be revoked. Tbip following on top of the action of the Ypsilanti common connoil may incline the company to do what is right and fair in these premises. Ann Arbor aud Ypsilanti have given the company valnable cousiderations in the way of franohises, rights of way, etc, and it has no business to abnse or utteinpt to abuse the rights thos acauired. The most honorable oourse for the company to adopt is a prompt and hearty acquiesence in the moderate reqnirements of the city counoĆ¼s withont the law baving to be resorted to to compel it to do so. By being fair about tbe maner tbe company wil] also gaiu tbe good will of the Aun Arbor and Ypsianti traveling public instead of the enmity, and that surely is worth something.
