Prof. Slauson Accepts
The following letÃer of aoceptanee received by E. F. Mills, secretary of the school board, from Prof. H. M. Slauson, the drw superintendent-elect of the Ann Arbor schools, will effeetually silence the rnmor tbat has been afloat that Mr. Sianson would not oome to Ann Arbor. The only cause for such a rnmor eeerns to bave been in the faot that the Moline school board offered him 2,300a year, or $ 100 more than he will gethere, to rernaiD in his present position. Mr. Slauson, however, had aocepted the position here and like the honorable man that he is he stands by it : Moline, 111., Jnne 'S, 1898. Mr. E. F. My resignation here was not accepted until last evening and then only after I had deolined, on tbe gronnd that I considered myself bonnd to go to Ann Arbor, an offer of $2,300 for the ooming year of niue months.
