Underwear and socks have been issued to the 31st regiment. Í Private letters f rom the boys of Co. Á. state that dyseutery is very prevaleut among tbem. Major Charles B. Nancrede has been appointed brigade surgeon and assigned to dnty at Chickamaoga. A proposal is on foot to establish a j K O. T. M. tent at Camp Thomas andj is meeting with mnch favor. The plagoe and torment of a soldiers life, the army "graybaok" haa put in its appearance at Camp Thomas. Gov. Pingree has appointed Dr. Viofcor C. Vanghan snrgeon of the Thirtythird Michigan Volunteer infantry, vice Chas B. Nancrede promoted. If yon have a friend or relative imong the boys wbo have gune to the front write to tbem, if t be ouly a few lines, send tbem newspapers, wbeDever yon can aud try to help them make tbe monotonoas life more bearablö. The companies of the 31sfc Regiment are to be recruited np to their maximum strength of 106 men. ADn Arbor will have to furnisb 25 more men for Co. A. and Ypsilanti 25 more for Co. G. The recrniting beadquarters for tbe third battalion of tbe regiment is to be located in Arm Arbor and will be in charge of Seoond Lieut. Martin L. Belser, with Sergt. Dean Seabolt, Co. A; Corp. Wm. Cbamberlain, Co. B; Corp. Cbas. M. Doolittle, Co. C; Corp. Matthew Kirk, Co. G.
