In all of the walks of life you wül flnd that those who suceed best are those who work with the greatest ease and most pleasure. They are those who take time to prepare for the duties which they have to perform. I Temember when I was a boy I had an idea that grreat men were all lean, carenera, overworked looking specimens ■of humanity, but the majority of the distinguished men that I have seen ■are hale, hearty fellows, who look as if they had never done anything that was disagreeable to them. We have all heard of studente being obllged to burn the midnight oil in order to master the tasks set before them; but I have observed, during a twenty years' residence among college boys, that the beat and most successful ones rarely loee a moment's sleep for the sake of duty. Occasionally, a wild fellow, who loses one night's rest for mischief, has to take part of the next night to get lls lessons. and then he has them imperfectly, as a rule. In short, welltimed, carefully-managed rest gives power, comfort, success and happinesa.
