Major John P. Kirk, of the 31st Michigan, and Mrs. Mary S. Acker, of Ypsilanti, weie quietly married in Chattanooga, Tenn., Monday evening by Kev. Pettis, of the Episcopal church. They were aooompanied by Fred Wallace, formerly of Miohigan, bnt now of the Globe Saddlery Co., of Chattanooga. Mrs. Kirk went to Georgia Wednesday of last week. The couple had been engaged for a long time. Major Kirk entertained the offioers of the regiment Tuesday night, and tbe oiflcers of his battalion presented him witb a handsome saber. Major Kirk is one of the popular officers of the regiment. Mrs. Kirk is now staying at the Read farm, soine distance from the camp.
