Dexter was visited by a fire Satnrday night whioh fora time threatened tobe disastrons to thp whole business part of he village. The flre originated iu í)r. John Lee's bouse on B st., aud was ultiraately confiDed to that building whioh was burned to the ground. The residents of the village were, howevar, thoronghly alarined and talephoned to Ann Arbor for aid. At the time the fire started Dr. Lee was at the barber shop. his danghters were away at an entertainment and his son was also absent. All the fnrnitore, exoept the piano was deströyed. Tbis inoludes a valuable library of books. The family had no clothing left except wbat they had on, the son lost $200 in cash, and all Dr. Lee's account books were deströyed.
