Herbert Teeter entertained the class of '98 at bis home Tuesday evening. Rev. Hntohins was acoompanied here last Sunday by his brotber frorn Kalaniazoo. Miss Jnlia Martin, of the Training Sonool, Ypsilunti, caine home last week to spend the vaoation. Miss Leona Clark, of MilaD, who has been trirnming for Mrs, Rundell has retnrued to her hoine. Miss Belle Hardy has retnrned from LaDsing on aooout of the severe illness of Miss Alvira Baldwin. The recrniting offloer of the 31st Regiment was here last week and a numbêr of the boys eulisted. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Peters and baby daugntsr, of Lenawee, visitad at E. S. Hagainan's last week. Miss Soott, of Chicago, is spending the sumuier here and taking painting lessons of Miss Myra Spafard. The ladies of tbe Universalist ohnrch and frifinds were entertained Weduesday afternooa of last week by Mrs. Lowery. Ice oreara was served at tne Raoket store last Saturday eveuing by the Baptist young people. The receipts weie abont $8. Mrs. Harmon Clark returned from Teonmseh last week. She was aceoiupanied by her daaghter, Mrs. H. WelliDg and baby son. Mrs. Amanda Piokett, of Canistio, N. ï., oame here Wednesday of last week to visit her sister Mrs. J. E. Teeter, and other relativas. The rnembers of the olass of '98 went to Tecramseh Friday to have their pictnres taken. The most of theru spent the day there and reported a good time. Mr. and Mrs. James Weir drove to Ann Arbor Snnday, to visit Rev. George Wright who went there a few weeks ago for treatment. They fouud him snffering graatly. The last meeting for the season of the Manchester Historical Club was held 'at the home of Mrs. H. Parr last Saturday, bnt on aooount of the rain the attendance was very small. The G. A.R. and W. R. C, assisted by gentlemen from abroad will give an entertainment on the Fourth of Jnly entit!ed"The Drummer Boy of tneRappahannook." They will also serve ice cream.
