A pastor, listening to the outline of a sermón based upon the dying thief took a card from his pocket, and wrote this sentence which had impressec him, "He was a dying thief, you are a living thief." The next day he called upon the Methodist minister, and, finding him absent, left his card. Imagine his horror when he discovered that he had left that card with the suggestive accusation upon its tiack. It naturally required some little circumlocution and dlplomacy to "unstrain" the relations thus put into a state of dangerous tensión by this apparently De Lome-like card.
