A review of resulta obtained at the Maryland station seems to give unmistakable evidence of the value of bordeaux solution when growing tomatoes that are likely to be affected by blight. The spray was in no sense a cure or even a complete preventive, yet by its use the disease was held in check to a great extent, so that the plant was able to carry on the functions of the developing and matnring of the fruit, so as to produce a marked increase in the erop. The average increase produced as a result of the spraying of 85 varieties in 1896 was 2.5 tons per aore, and in 1897, with 19 varieties tested, was 2.2 tons per acre.
