Dr, Bomer E. Safford, of Detroit, and Miss Gertrude Snnderland, one of the best known young ladies of tbis oity, both in local and nniversity circles, were raarried at the Unitarian ohnrch Tuesday afternoon by the Rev. J. T. Sunderland, fatber of the bride. Tbe wedding took place before a larga number of friends of both parties to the ceremony. Miss Sunderland was a gradĂșate of tbe nnivereity in 1895 and spent the socceeding year in study in Germany, Englaud and Greece, her father, mother, brother and sister all spending the year abroad. The groom is dow one of the well known pbysioians of Detroit. He graduated from the literaiy department of the nniversity in 1892, and from the medical department in 1896, distingnishing bimself in hia specialty surgery bo that he was appointed assistant to Dr. Nancrede for tbe following year. This plaoe on the facnlty he gave up when he went to praotioe in Detroit.
