Beverly, Mass., July 5. - The steamer Surf City, while on her trip over from Salem Willows, was struck by a squall at 6 o'cloek at night and sunk about a quarter mile ofE her wharf here. There were from 100 to 150 persons on board at the time. A large number were resoued by boats from the shore. It is believed that between twenty and thirty went down with the boat.
