From the New York Times: An lnvestigation ty the New York Zoological society into the destruction of bird and animal life in the United States has shown that in four-fifths of the area of the United States exclusive of Alaska, blrd life is being annihilated, edible birds are rare and on the point of extinction, and plume birds are practically extinct. These conclusions have been reached after extensive correspondence wlth naturalista, ornithologists, game wardens and others in a position to speak authoritatively, and a report embodying the results of the dnvestigation will be publlshed in the annual rport of the society.
