The new dome will be 30 feet bigh.5and will be ootagonal part way up. Itavill have somewhat tbe appearaance of the old one, thongh in the pen drawiog of the plans it looks more "sqoatty. " In front and over tbe main entranoe is considerable fllagree work. Seoretary Wade says it is a place for the band to be stationed during tbe oommencement. The new roof and dome whioh are to be construoted this sammer will oost between 8,000 and $10,000. Socretary Wade does not propose to take any vacation this snmmer, and this has grown to be a onstom of bis. He will have bis hands fnll enongh to keep him out of mischief, for there are a good many improvements to be made abont the campus this snmmer. The outside walls of the old law I building are being torn down so tbat the new brioks may b'e pnt up to make the whole building uniform, The law building is assuming vorygreat proportions and will almost overshadow the main building. Ther are a number of ceilings to be put up in this bnilding that are not in the contract of the builders. Some $3,000 wlll be spent on the chemioal laboratory, repairing rooms for varions professors, pntting in skylights, and adding a oew roof. The mechanioal laboratory will also oome in for $2,000 worth of repairs. The sum of $1,000 will be devoted to repairs at the hospitals and a sun room will be added to the homeopathie hospital. This is a ninch needéd addition and the benefits of ït have been clearly demonstrated by the snn room of the nniversity hospital. ■ Quite a little work will be done at tbe museum in the way of kalaomining, painting and repairing the floors. The woman's gymnasium, as noted in another oolamn, will be completed this fall. The plumbing in the gymnasium will bave to be torn ont as the pipes are said to be fnll of lime, and of course new plnmbing will take its place. This is said to be only a starter as to the repairs which will be made on the campus, which now contains so many buildings that considerable attention has to lie paid to repairs to keep them up. And as the years roll on, these repairs will probably increase in numbers. It will be seen that naany workmen will find employrnent on the campus this suiumer under the various coutractors.
