He writes: "On tbe evening of May 81, at 10 o'clook, I was seized by a rnob of ooll9ge stndents and oarried to the bank of tbe Red Cedar river. From theneo they picked me clear off tbe gronnd, hurled me tbrougb space into the water below. My knee strnok a rook in the bed of the stream, doing me great damage, aod I am laid op as tbe result of my involuntary batb." He olaims that he act was done with the oonnivance of tbe president of the college and that he bas been nnable to bring the gnilty parties to justioe. He appeals to Gov. Pingree to set tbe wbeels of the law in motion. The governor has torned the letter over to the attorney general.
