At the meeting of the board of regents of the university held in Detroii yesterday, Prof. George A. Henoh was appointed to supervise the work in the Frenoh department nntil l'iof. E. L. Walter's plaoe shall be filled. Judge A. V. HcAlvey was appointed non-resident Iecturer in the law department to snoceed A. C. Angelí at a salary o: $1,000. John P. Rood snooeeds T. W. Hnghes as instructor in the law department at $600, and Shirley W. Smith was made instructor in English at $600. The Detroit Eleotric and Wiring Co get tbe job of wiring the new law building at $717, and A. Hild & Co. will oeil two lecture rooms ín the same building for $400. A Cleveland fina gats the contract for the iron work for the new roof aDd dome of the main building "at $2,300, the work to be done in 60 days. The oarpentry work was not let. An applioation to have the athletic field leveled was not actec upon. Secretary Wade stated that Presiden Angelí would be back to resume hi. duties Sept. 20, and scouted the absurd rumor that the president intends to re sign.
