In Morocco everything is sold in the name of the Prophet. The storekeepsr, the auctioneer and even the pedlar calis pon Mohammed or one of the saints to aid him in disposing of his wares. The auctioneer who sellsa slave girl or a rug interlards his talk with many allusions to the Moorish deltles. In the etreets it is no uncommon thing to hear Euch cries as, "In the name of our Lord Mohammed Al Hadji! Popcorn! Popcorn!" "In the name of Sidua Ali-buBhaleh! Meions! Nlce, sweet meions!" "God is gracious! Beans! Fried beans!" "There be no might or majsty save Allah ! Water! Water! Cool "Water!" To the stranger it would appear as if the pedlar and prophet were partners in business.
