In six half days the 30 women at most, 11 the least, any one of these half days, and the result in work was 84 night shirts, 18 pajama suits, 70 tow8ls, 150 napkins, 150 wash cloths, 150 toilet bags with oloth and soap, quantities of old linen, aud money oontributed $42.10. These snpplies were shipped to Chickamanga; if not needed they are to be turued over to the Red Cross. At the requestof Capt. G-ranger medicines were sent to Co. A, to the ainouut of $12. Thanks are due Mr. O'Toole for the fine machine loaned and to the nierchains for goods at Wholesale. Also for large donations of soap. The manner in which the women woik would, and will if he has "ears to hear," show tbe man who holds the important plaoe of surgeon-general of these United States that women have in the past and will in the fntnre do that whioh they find to do, though bis orders were "No women need apply" tocare for the boys in bine. Far better wonld it have been if at every post women were tnere to see that snpplies were on hand, and not have to exclaim, as did the red Cross women at Santiago to the surgeon, "Is it possible that yon have brought áO.OOO men and nothing for the relief of the siok and wonnded?" -
