Annual School Meeting

The annnal meeting of the eleotors of Soüool District No. 1, Ann Arbor, will take place on Monday next, Sept. 5, at which time an eleotion of three trustees to fill the plaoes of Mrs. Anna B. Bacb, Christian Mack and J. E. Beal, whose terms expire, also to decide on whether the "uniform sobool text books" shall be used in the schools or not, will be beid. The polls will open at 9 a. ra. and close at 3 p. in. After the election the annual sohool meeting for making the appropriations for the ensuing year will be held. A citizens' oaucus to place in nomiuation three oandidates will be held at the court house this evening at 7 :30 o'clock, the oaü being signed by the committee appoioted at last year's caucus to do so. Another meeting is to be held at the same place tomorrow evening which in its oall states is "by order of the oommittee." From these preliminary indioations it wonld seem that some degree of interest is being manifestad in the selection of our sohool trustees wbo have the handling of a large amount of money each year and on whose aotivity, oare and good judgment the safety and welfare of our public sohool system in a great measure devolves.
